John Woodruff was a photographer for the Department of the Interior,
Canada. The following photos are part of Grandpa’s (Bernie Woodruff)
personal collection. Some of the photographs were copied by the Museum
in Banff, Alberta in 1980 from Grandpa’s originals. These were lost when
a flash rain storm flooded our basement. We were able to obtain
replacement copies from the Whyte Museum, Banff, Alberta in 2003.
John Woodruff traveled across Canada taking photographs which captured
life at the turn of the century (1900's that is).
More of his photographs can be view at the National Archives, Ottawa,
ON, CA.

Grandpa, Bernard John Woodruff seated in front of a photo of himself
and his bicycle at Sapper’s Bridge, Rideau Street, Ottawa, Ontario.
As a young man he would have been about 16 years of age. He was about 85
